Jigsaw Piece No. 1

Before We Start... Getting Ready!

We're presuming that you already know the absolute basics of operating your computer, including how to set up folders, etc.

However, if you do have some "newbie" queries along the way, there's a brand new Chatroom/Q&A here!

You can post questions and receive advice.  Read the "rules" when you get there, and you'll need to sign up before you can post a question.

And remember please... avoid personal details on forums... not everyone out there is a good guy!  Forum Netiquette? Click here.

You'll find a lot of links and banners on this site.  They'll take you to free useful resources and to products you may consider investing in.  Using those links is easy... it's a simple click to go to that new area or site.  Same with the banners... just click.  All links open in a new page.  Simply close them when you're done and you're right back at the page you started with.

I have a favor to ask.  We've lost count of the links on this site... it's huge!  And it's going to get bigger.  We've double checked everything but sometimes the gremlins take over.  If you find a link that doesn't work, would you mind going to the Help Desk button at the bottom of the page you're on, and letting us know?  All we need is the title of the page and the paragraph that the link that doesn't work, is in?  Thank you.

And to access heaps more resources... is easy.  Become a member of the "Newbies On The Net" Club.   Click here to go the signup page for free Gold Member access to eBooks, reports, guides and a whole lot more.

We've created a series of "How To" pages to give you more information on some of the steps that we're discussing.   So, when you come across a "click here" or "here" suggestion, like the one in the paragraph above, if you'd enjoy more information about that subject, do just that.  There's a lot more "How To's" listed here.

Here's a really useful site featuring a dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia and translator.  Worth bookmarking - Dictionary.com

Just about every price for items on the internet is in American dollars.  If this isn't your currency then you can convert it right here.  And when you're putting your own website together... consider using American dollars as your online currency.  The USA is still THE major market for all things internet.

If you're at the beginning of your internet journey... then you do need to know how to use search engines.   Probably the most popular is Google.com   When you arrive at their page, click on their "About Google" button and then the "Help" button for complete details on how to search properly.  This is going to save you a heap of time while searching, and you'll get better results for your search term.
