Make Your Banners More Clickable!...

If you're marketing a product... you need a banner for it!

That banner goes on your blog... to send visitors to your site.  It also helps your affiliates advertise your site.

At a minimum, put together two - a 468 pixel x 60 and a 125 pixel square (fits well on blog sidebars).  If you're organizing your website from a graphic designer, ask them to include these in your total package... i.e. header, footer, product cover, and the two banners.

If you're doing this yourself... reduce the size of your template header to make up the 468 and have a play with the components in it, to achieve the 125 square.

An example of these are:

You'll notice that we haven't stuck to the standard 468 x 60 for the oblong banner.  Ours is taller, so there are some places that won't accept this.

I really must get on and do another that's accepted everywhere!  But for our own sites, I prefer this format... it attracts more attention.  And yes, I did use the site header to be able to put this one together.

Just don't forget to insert your hyperlink behind your banners, so that the clickee gets to the right page... yours!  In your web editor it's as simple as using your mouse to select your banner, clicking "Insert", then "Hyperlink", add your site address e.g. http://yoursiteaddressinfull.com or .com.au or whatever yours is.

Here's a few ways to make your banners clickable!..

1.  Use reverse psychology on your banner ads. You could tell people not to click on your banner ad.  For example "Don't Click Here If You Are Comfortable With Your Looks!" if you're selling a beauty or skincare product.

2.  Make your banner ad words as attractive as possible. Or incite curiosity.  Use words like ultimate, powerful, sizzling, hot, etc.  As long as they're true!  Your words should relate and highlight your total offer.

3.  Offer a discount offer on your banner ad. People are always looking for good deals. You could offer a percentage discount, dollar discount, buy one get one free discount, etc.

4.  Use a testimonial on your banner ad. This'll give people proof they aren't wasting their time clicking on your banner ad. The testimonial should include

enough information so they understand the offer.

5.  Have a famous or well known personality on your banner ad representing your product, web site or service... if the budget is available.  People will click because they know the personality and therefore trust them.

6.  Use a strong guarantee on your banner ad. You could include the guarantee as a headline for your offer. It could feature your money back guarantee, lifetime guarantee, etc.  Always have a money back guarantee for your product.

7.  Tell people to click on your banner ad.  Newbies to the internet may not even know they can click on banners.  Just having the phrase "click here" on your banner will increase your clickthroughs.  True!

8.  Advertise a trial or sample offer. This let's people know that there is no risk or obligation if they click on your banner ad and try out your product or service.  If sales have been slow, try this for a set time to see if it works for you.

9.  Tell people the major benefit of your product, web site or service on your banner ad. It could be benefits like make money, lose weight, increase energy, save money, save time, etc.

10.  Advertise a free offer on your banner ad. Or a "limited time bonus".  People love free stuff. The freebie should relate to your target audience. If the freebie is attractive to them they will click.

Good luck with your marketing.
