We're often asked "what is the fastest way for me to create a product of my own?" Top of the list if you want "fast" is using no-restriction PLR.
The highest level of Private Label Rights products generally come to you with: 1. A no-restriction licence. i.e. you are allowed to do anything you want with the product. 2. A "source" file for the product. Most often a word.doc that you can rewrite/alter in any way you wish. 3. A reseller site. A webpage and graphics so that you can resell the product. 4. psd (Photoshop) files for the main graphics. These enable you to completely change the graphics for the site (header and footer), eBook or report and sometimes even the order button for the site.
If your plr package has all of these... you're off to a good start. Check the licence that came with the product to know exactly what you can and can't do with it.
What I would do with a package like this? Decision first! Am I going to onsell is with PLRights or do I want to turn it into an MRR (Master Resell Rights) product, which enables me to lock the eBook so my advertising links can't be changed. Obviously the MRR product isn't going to be anywhere near as valuable to someone as the PLR product would be.
Okay... decision made. I'll sell the PLR. What's next?
* Start by reading through the eBook so I'm sure that I've got a good product to work with. Some free or very inexpensive plr products have been written by someone who doesn't have english as their first language. The person who sold you this product either outsourced the writing of the eBook to the person who quoted him/her the lowest price, or he bought the product as is and didn't bother to correct spelling/grammar, etc., before he sold it on to you. N.B. If it was free and the eBook doesn't have potential... ditch it now! Don't waste your time. If you paid for it and the eBook is full of spelling mistakes and bad grammar... ask for your money back now!
* Edit the eBook to a) do any corrections necessary. b) add any experience or knowledge of my own, that would improve the eBook. c) add our own legals and disclaimers, and, most importantly my advertising... links to my own products or those that I'm an affiliate for. Lastly, turn it into a pdf file (portable document format). And if it's to be an MRR eBook... lock it (it's called "security").
* Edit the graphics. If you don't do this, you run the risk of being a "Me Too" product with all the others online. Simple changes to the graphics... just changing the person on the header and cover and renaming the product, makes it a product that is uniquely yours. If you're selling PLR then you should include the psd files so your customer can make their own changes. If you're selling MRR, just the jpeg files will do.
Lots of people who download PLR products from giveaway events or other sources, spend about five minutes putting the whole package back up online at a hugely reduced cost. I've seen PLR products for as little as $1! If you spend just half a day on reworking this product as I've described above, yours won't look anything like these others, and you stand a much better chance of making good money from it. It's unique!
Good luck with yours.
